European Family Office Makes Senior Hire

The Stonehage Group, a European multi-family office for ultra high net worth families and entrepreneurs, has hired Simon Clark as managing director of group services.

In his new role, Clark will be responsible for Stonehage’s compliance, information technology, human resources, facilities and change management teams.

“Clark has worked closely with us for the last two years as part of our partnership with ACPI. His prior experience across the wealth management spectrum will add value internally and ultimately for clients,”  said Ari Tatos, Stonehage group chief operating officer.

Clark joins from investment manager ACPI, where he was chief operating officer and played a key role in the buy-out of Stonehage’s stake in the company in 2012.

He has over 23 years’ experience in financial markets in the UK, US and Asia Pacific, having previously served as chief financial officer and partner at Heartwood and held various roles at RBS Financial Markets, Greenwich NatWest and Credit Suisse First Boston.

In related news, Stonehage research recently showed that ultra wealthy investors are looking to increase their exposure to small company debt across the UK and continental Europe as traditional lenders continue to deleverage. Read more about this topic here.
