Edmond de Rothschild Poaches Allianz's UK Sales Boss

The UK asset management arm of Swiss private banking group Edmond de Rothschild has created a new wholesale leadership role.

Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management has hired Daniel Lee from Allianz Global Investors as head of UK wholesale.

Lee joins from Allianz Global Investors where he was sales director, UK discretionary, from late 2013. Before this, he was head of UK discretionary sales at Cazenove Capital, which was acquired by Schroders in July 2013. Lee brings almost 20 years of financial services experience.

In the newly-created role, Lee will be based in London, responsible for enhancing the company's presence in the UK wholesale market.

“His deep knowledge of the market will be tremendously helpful, both in improving the quality of our coverage and in adapting our range of products and services to the needs of UK investors,” said Charles Goodman, chief executive of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management (UK).

Edmond de Rothschild Group recently announced it was cutting its fixed income team in London as part of its wider strategy to focus on its core private banking and asset management businesses. The group’s asset management unit had more than €54 billion under management as of the end of June, with an investment staff of 100.
