A new “Family View” tool which enables advisors to support
families more effectively with their intergenerational
planning needs has seen a big increase in client logins,
according to UK investment platform Transact.
Modelled in response to client feedback, Transact's “Family View” tool enables clients to view the portfolios of other family members without having to log into multiple accounts separately, the firm said in a statement. From one account, users can see the portfolio value and investment summary of another, enabling easy alignment of investment strategies and planning across generations.
In the first few weeks of the launch, the function was adopted by 3,800 portfolios, and 7,400 added it after the first two months of its availability – around 3 per cent of portfolios, the firm added.
Access granted to view another portfolio does not allow instructions to be executed on behalf of family members. Equally, access can easily be revoked at anytime by an individual changing the settings within their Transact portfolio. Transact said it has seen a 41 per cent increase in logins for clients with the “Family View” set up.
"Family View is our latest development in response to advisor and client feedback, and we have seen excellent levels of adoption so far. We're looking forward to continuing to advance our intergenerational planning offering to the advisor community moving forward," Tom Dunbar, chief development officer at Transact, said.
