Columbia Threadneedle Names Non-Executive Director

The global asset management group has added a former Standard Chartered executive to its board.
Columbia Threadneedle has appointed Kath Cates as non-executive director of the boards of Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings and Threadneedle Investment Services.
Cates’ most recent executive role was global chief operating officer for Standard Chartered Bank, a position based in Singapore and which she held until 2013. She previously spent over 20 years at UBS, latterly as global head of compliance.
Based in London, she also serves as a non-executive director of RSA Insurance Group and Brewin Dolphin, where she chairs the board risk committee and sits on the group audit committee.
“She brings valuable financial services experience particularly in the areas of risk management, governance and regulation and operational excellence. We look forward to working with Kath and to the benefit of her contribution to our business,” said Tim Gillbanks, interim regional head, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.
As of the end of March 2016, Columbia Threadneedle managed £323 billion ($467 billion) of assets on behalf of individual, institutional and corporate clients globally.
