Chicago Private Client Law Firm Boosts New York Presence With Senior Hire

New York law firm Sullivan & Cromwell has seen the departure of private client partner Henry Christensen, who is leaving after 37 years to join Chicago-based McDermott Will & Emery. Christensen, who is to join the leader as a partner on 1 August, will head the firm’s New York and international private client group. He focuses his practice on international estate planning. Mr Christensen was the administrative head of the estates and personnel group at Sullivan & Cromwell from 1986 to 1995 and was a partner for 30 years. McDermott Will & Emery now has around 40 lawyers in its private client practice. Mr Christensen said: “McDermott has the finest private client practice in the country based in its Chicago office but has lacked a New York and international private client presence.”
