CIO For Asia, Middle East Leaves Coutts For National Bank Of Abu Dhabi

Coutts’ chief investment officer for Asia and the Middle East has left the firm after less than two years.

Coutts’ chief investment officer for Asia and the Middle East has left the firm for a post in the United Arab Emirates, the bank confirmed to this publication.

Gary Dugan has left his post to join the National Bank of Abu Dhabi as chief investment officer.

He was appointed to the CIO role for Coutts in May 2012, based in Singapore.

His new position at NBAD will not be his first time in the United Arab Emirates, prior to joining Coutts he served as the CIO, private banking of Emirates NBD in Dubai.

Other roles include managing director and CIO at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and senior positions in global financial institutions such as Barclays Wealth and JP Morgan.
