Boodle Hatfield Gears Up For Middle East-Focused Private Office

This publication brings latest news on appointments and moves in global wealth management.

UK-headquartered law firm Boodle Hatfield has made two appointments to its Middle East team to launch a dedicated private office offering.

Partner Shaima Jillood and solicitor Reem Al Jumaily have joined from the private wealth team at Charles Russell Speechlys, another UK-based law firm. Their arrival follows the appointment of partner Salpy Kouyoumjian in 2015 from Baker & McKenzie.

“Boodle Hatfield has seen over the past 18 months a significant growth in demand and instructions from individuals, family offices and financial institutions from the GCC, the Levant and North Africa (primarily Egypt),” it said.

Shaima Jillood is experienced in the high net worth residential property market, working with both domestic and international clients.  Reem Al Jumaily also specialises in the UK residential property market.

The firm’s residential real estate team has over the past five years transacted over £1 billion of residential sales and purchases, with individual values in excess of £50 million.  Its focus is on the prime central London market, residential development, enfranchisement, and country houses and estates. In total, Boodle Hatfield has 31 partners and has been in business since 1722.
