Bluebay AM Hires Ex-Nomura Emerging Markets Specialist
This is a newly-created role for the London-headquartered asset management firm.
BlueBay Asset
Management has recruited Timothy Ash, previously of Nomura,
as its emerging markets senior sovereign strategist.
At financial services group Nomura, Ash was head of
Central Eastern Europe Middle East and Africa
credit strategy. He has also previously held positions as head of
emerging markets research at ICBC-Standard Bank, Royal Bank of
Scotland and Bear Sterns.
Ash will be based in London, reporting to David Dowsett,
partner and co-head of emerging markets. He will help
shape investment views, as well as identify risks and
opportunities at a sovereign macroeconomic level across BlueBay’s
emerging markets strategies, the firm said in a statement.
“Global macropolitical and economic events are increasingly
impacting developments in emerging markets. Our belief is
that this trend will persist in the coming years, which can
create investment opportunities, but requires more rigorous
integration of these factors in investment decision making,” said
Dowsett. “Tim’s first class experience in this area enhances our
capabilities to ensure we continue to deliver investment
performance across our emerging market strategies for our
clients."
Bluebay managed in excess of $50 billion for institutions
and high net worth individuals as of 31 December 2016.
