Berkeley Law Names Partner In UK, International Tax Team

The private wealth law firm has boosted its partnership with a hire from offshore law firm Collas Crill.

London-based Berkeley Law has appointed Edward Stone as partner within its UK and international tax and structuring team.

Stone joins from offshore law firm Collas Crill where he was head of the London office and a senior member of the fiduciary team. Before this, he was head of trusts and private client at Conyers Dill & Pearman.

Stone brings particular experience in setting up private trust companies for ultra-high net worth clients, as well as the restructuring and resettlement of existing trusts. He has also advised trust companies on their fiduciary obligations and trust interpretation.

“He brings a great deal of experience acting for private individuals and families and will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionise legal and wealth advisory services to this important group of private clients,” said Nick Rucker, partner at Berkeley Law.

“His appointment demonstrates how serious we are about expanding our offering and reaching out to new clients with complex financial affairs in the UK and abroad.”

Rucker added that the hire comes as part of the firm's expansion of its range of services to complex private and corporate clients in the UK and international wealth industry.

Berkeley Law, which specialises in advising high net worth private clients, was acquired by legal services group Irwin Mitchell in November 2014.
