Belgian Bank Appoints New UK Banking Head

Daniel Thielemans has been appointed chief executive officer of Fortis Bank UK. He replaces Angus MacLennan who was recently made global chief executive officer of Corporate, Institutional and Public Banking. Mr Thielemans has been with Fortis for over 30 years and was latterly managing director of Fortis Corporate Banking Belgium. He will report to Filip Dierckx, chief executive officer of Merchant and Private Banking, and Herman Verwilst, deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer of Fortis. Both are members of the Fortis executive committee. Fortis Bank UK is headquartered in the City of London and has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Chelmsford, Gatwick, Leeds, Luton, Manchester, Nottingham, Reading and Southampton.
