Barings Names New Head Of Sales For Asia

Baring Asset Management, the London-headquartered investment house which is part of MassMutual Financial Group, has appointed Marco Tang to the newly-created role of head of sales, client service and business development for mutual fund distribution, across Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
Tang joins Barings from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was executive director and head of intermediary business. Before that, he held a number of sales roles at Allianz Global Investors, HSBC Asset Management and Jardine Fleming Unit Trusts.
Based in Hong Kong, in his new role, Tang will report to Gerry Ng, chief executive, Asia ex Japan.
In other recent developments, last month Baring Asset Management launched the Baring Frontier Markets Fund. The fund holds over $21 million in assets under management, and seeks to achieve long-term capital growth through at least 70 per cent exposure to frontier markets in places such as Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
