Barings Adds Charities Investment Manager

Baring Asset Management, the UK-based investment house, has appointed Alison Huang as a charities investment manager in its multi-asset team.
Huang joins from TT International Investment Management, where she had been an equity analyst, sitting within a team which managed some $14 billion of assets, largely in pan-European stocks. Before this she was a risk and performance management analyst, also at TT International. Her charities experience was gained at the Wellcome Trust, where she began her career.
In her new London-based role Huang will report to Percival Stanion, Barings’ head of asset allocation.
“She [Huang] brings strong investment experience and a good understanding of both multi-asset investing and the charities sector. As a sector generalist, her strong financial modelling skills and appreciation of asset allocation will prove highly valuable as we continue to capitalise on our strong charities proposition,” Stanion said in a statement.
The firm’s multi-asset team was formed a decade ago and now numbers nine portfolio managers and two analysts. Its charities proposition comprises a segregated portfolio service for charities investing over £5 million (about $8 million) and the firm now runs over £1 billion for various charitable organisations.
