Bank J Safra Sarasin Stresses Longevity With 175th Anniversary Ad Splurge

The Switzerland-headquartered bank traces its origins back to 1841 and - at a time of mergers, consolidation and other uncertainties - is keen to stress its history.

Bank J Safra Sarasin, the Switzerland-headquartered private banking group operating in a number of regions, including Asia, is marking its 175th anniversary with an advertising campaign focusing on inventions made during its history, including powered flight and the electric lightbulb.

The bank, owned by the Brazilian Safra financial dynasty, was founded in 1841. Its advertising campaign runs until the end of 2016 across regional and local print and outdoor media.

“We live in a time of extraordinary change. The history of the bank demonstrates that its values stand firm, offering our clients the opportunity to partner with us for generations to come,” said Enid Yip, chief executive, Asia, at the bank.

Among recent developments, the bank has appointed former VP Bank Singapore senior manager Peter Bühler as a managing director. He took on a new role at the firm as head of external asset managers and intermediaries, Asia.
