Asset Manager Sets Up Netherlands Office

The firm has hired the former country head of sales Benelux at Lombard Odier Investment Managers to run the new office.

Lazard Asset Management has opened an office in Amsterdam to serve Netherlands-based clients. The Amsterdam operationi will be led by Marcel van Ostaden, who joins as director of sales for The Netherlands.

He will be responsible for retail and institutional sales and marketing for LAM in the region. Prior to joining LAM, van Ostaden spent six years as country head of sales Benelux at Lombard Odier Investment Managers. He was a sales director at BlackRock between 2005 and 2012. 

“The Netherlands is an important and growing market for us,” said Jeremy Taylor, chief executive of the UK- based subsidiary, Lazard Asset Management. “Marcel brings more than 20 years of investment industry experience, and his knowledge and expertise will position us well for continued growth in the region.”

An indirect subsidiary of Lazard, Lazard Asset Management offers a range of equity, fixed income, and alternative investment products worldwide. As of 30 June, LAM and affiliated asset management companies in the Lazard Group managed $238 billion of client assets.
