Asia-Only US Fund Manager Expands Network To Europe

Matthews, the US-based asset manager that deals exclusively with Asian investments, has expanded its reach by offering UCITS funds through a new European platform.

The firm's Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS funds are now available at Allfunds Bank, the open architecture fund platform backed by Grupo Santader of Spain and Italy's Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Through this partnership, Matthews' Asia Dividend, Pacific Tiger (Asia ex-Japan) China, India and China Small Companies Funds will be accessible to all clients of Allfunds Bank.

The funds include US dollar and pound sterling-denominated retail and institutional share classes. The deal effectively widens the Matthews' scope, with Allfunds representing some €65 billion ($85 billion) of assets for over 300 clients. Matthews itself records $17.8 billion in assets under management as at 31 March 2012.
