Amundi Appoints Head Of Alternative Asset Sales

The European asset management firm has hired for a senior commercial position, based in France.

Amundi has appointed Eric Wohleber as its new head of real and alternative asset sales.

Prior to joining Amundi, Wohleber led the iShares sales team at BlackRock since 2009. He has more than 20 years’ experience in banking, having started his career at UAP Insurance in 1994. He went on to spend 11 years at Invesco France. He then moved to Barclays Global Investors in London to prepare the launch of the French branch and to lead iShares ETF sales in France. He also served as country manager for BGI France.

Wohleber will be based in Paris. WealthBriefing is awaiting confirmation from Amundi as to whether this is a newly-created role or a replacement.

Last month, Amundi hired Heinrich Merz as chief investment officer for its alternative investments arm, replacing Sylvie Dehove, who became the firm's head of market risk.

Amundi, which is headquartered in Paris and has offices in over 30 countries, had more than €950 billion ($1.08 trillion) in assets under management as of the end of 2015.
