AXA Investment Managers Hires Rival's Healthcare Expert

Global asset manager AXA Investment Managers has bolstered its AXA Framlington healthcare team with the appointment of Barclays' Dani Saurymper.
AXA Investment Managers has appointed Barclays Capital's Dani Saurymper to lead its AXA Framlington Health and AXA WF Framlington Health funds.
Saurymper joins from his position as an equity research analyst for European healthcare at Barclays Capital, a role he has held since 2013. Before this, he spent three years covering global pharmaceuticals and healthcare at Nomura and nine years at Goldman Sachs' European pharmaceuticals research team.
Saurymper will take on the management of the funds subject to regulatory approval. They were previously managed by Gemma Game, who left the firm last year.
He will join the London-based AXA Framlington healthcare team at the end of March and will report to the head of global equities at AXA Framlington, Mark Hargraves.
“With 14 years’ experience, he brings an exceptional understanding of the global healthcare sector. Dani’s appointment supports our commitment to meeting clients’ needs and appetite for investing in healthcare,” said the global head of AXA Framlington, Mark Beveridge.
AXA Framlington’s healthcare franchise currently manages over £1.4 billion ($2.05 billion) in assets across AXA Framlington Healthcare, AXA WF Framlington Health and AXA Framlington Biotech.
