APCIMS Adds Alternatives to Private Investor Indices

The Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers is to introduce hedge funds and UK commercial property to its Private Investor Indices. APCIMS launched three private investor indices in February 1997 to cover three types of portfolio; the growth portfolio for investors seeking capital growth; the income portfolio for those seeking a steady income; and the balanced portfolio for those seeking a balance of income and capital growth. Compiled in conjunction with FTSE, the primary purpose of the indices is to provide private investors and trustees with a measure of performance against which to compare their investment portfolios, based upon the assumption they are domestic investors with sterling denominated accounts.
