AMP Capital Continues Infrastructure Growth Drive

Sydney-headquartered investment manager AMP Capital has appointed Damian Stanley as principal of investments, capital infrastructure equity team, in London.

Australia's AMP Capital has hired Damian Stanley to lead investments within its London-based capital infrastructure equity team.

Stanley joins the team as principal of investments and will report to AMP Capital's head of origination, Europe, Simon Ellis. In the newly-created role, he will lead transactions in the region for the global infrastructure platform and for the firm's institutional investors.

Stanley was most recently director on the Australian board of Whitehelm Capital and chairman of its UK subsidiary board. He was formerly head of infrastructure investment advisory, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Morgan Stanley and managing director, Macquarie infrastructure and real assets at Macquarie Group in Sydney and London.

His appointment follows AMP Capital's recent additions of Roopa Murthy and Giles Gray to its infrastructure debt team in London, as well as a senior-level revamp of its global infrastructure equity team in February.

“AMP Capital’s focus is on acquiring additional assets for the global infrastructure platform in sectors such as transport, energy, communication and utilities and we have been encouraged to see deal flow steadily increasing across Europe,” said AMP Capital's global head of infrastructure equity, Boe Pahari.

“Damian will play a key role in finding the best opportunities from the region for our clients.”

Since its global infrastructure platform was launched September, it has generated over $540 million in new commitments for AMP Capital – over a quarter of its target size of $2 billion.

As of the end of last year, AMP Capital managed more than $118 billion of funds worldwide.
