Citi Private Bank has appointed Steven Wieting as global chief strategist, reporting to Eduardo Martinez Campos, global head of investments. In his new role, Wieting will be responsible for formulating investment views and strategies for the business and its clients around the world.

The deVere Group has opened a new office in the Cayman Islands, on West Bay Road in Grand Cayman, in the heart of the Cayman Islands' financial industry. Headed by chief executive Nigel Green and deVere executive Simon Pratt, the deVere Group Caymans base will mark the firm’s first office in the Caribbean, and will specialise in investment brokerage.

Towry, the UK-based wealth manager, has appointed a manager and five further wealth advisors to its personal injury and clinical negligence team, as the firm continues it expansion plans. The team will be headed by Duncan Gregory, wealth advice manager of Towry’s Manchester office and a chartered financial planner with 23 years experience in the financial services industry.

International Northern Trust, the Chicago-headquartered banking group, hired Edwin Parker to boost its alternative fund administration team to work across the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Channel Islands. Parker joined Northern Trust earlier in November from Butterfield Fulcrum, where he was managing director.

UK moves Brett Williams, formerly chief executive of Cofunds and Skandia’s platform, re-emerged as a founding member of a private equity firm that will invest in wealth managers and other financial services companies in the UK. The new entity is called Lime Tree Investment Partners.

UK AXA Investment Managers appointed Benjamin Rumary as investment sales manager for the Channel Islands, Ireland and the southwest of the UK. Rumary joined from LV= Asset Management, where he was investment sales manager for the south of England and London.
