Barclays Continues Corporate & Employer Solutions Expansion
Barclays has continued the expansion of its Corporate & Employer Solutions business with the addition of four new employee benefits consultants.
The new appointees are Anish Rav, David Pascoe, Mark Ramsook and Simon Pickerill. Rav joins from Hymans Robertson, Pascoe from Gallagher Employee Benefits, Ramsook from Mercer Consulting and Pickerill from Alexander Forbes.
Rav, Pascoe and Ramsook will be based in London, while Pickerill will be based in Manchester. All four will report to Paul Wilson, head of employee benefit consulting at Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions.
The quartet of hires closely follows the news earlier this month that Barclays has bolstered the corporate wealth advisory team within its Corporate & Employer Solutions unit with the addition of James Wood and Liam Fearon.
Wood and Fearon, who joined as corporate wealth advisors, will be advising entrepreneurs, SMEs and smaller corporate clients.
Wood, who is now based in Ipswich, was latterly a commercial financial planning advisor at HSBC. Fearon, who is now based in Birmingham, joins from RBS, where he had specialised in corporate financial planning.
Barclays has been busily building out its corporate wealth advisory unit, after having launched it earlier this year, and has made four appointments to it in recent months. The firm is also clearly keen to tap entrepreneurs and SMEs throughout the UK regions. Anthony Whittington, one of the four corporate advisors to join the unit earlier this year, is now based in Crawley, West Sussex, for example.
Corporate advisory services are now increasingly seen as a core part of wealth managers’ offerings due to the rising numbers of entrepreneurs in the high net worth segment and the fact that operational businesses now form a much more significant part of clients’ wealth.
