Newton Recruits Investment Manager From F&C

Newton, a UK-based subsidiary of BNY Mellon Asset Management, has added investment manager Terry Coles to its global equities team.

Coles joins Newton from F&C Asset Management’s global equities team, of which he was a director overseeing a range of mandates worth some £800 million (around $1.25 billion) in assets under management. Prior to joining F&C, he was a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management.

In other recent developments at the firm, in May Newton launched its SRI Fund for Charities – a vehicle which aims to meet the socially responsible investment needs of charities that have within their investment policy or their governing document specific ethical or SRI criteria relating to their own charitable objectives. The fund, which is structured as a unit trust and is managed by Gemma Woodward, is based on a global portfolio covering the world’s principal stock and fixed interest markets.
