Standard Chartered Reaches Out To Next Generation Clients

Standard Chartered Private Bank has designed a way to more directly meet client needs with the launch of the first "Summer Business School" initially for the children of its customers.

Twenty youngsters, aged 18 to 25, have been invited to participate in a six-week program that will be conducted at the bank's consumer banking office in Singapore from 5 July to 13 August. The course is expected to provide participants with a good entry into and quality experience in business strategy and finance.

"The majority of our clients are successful business people. One of the hottest topics for them is next generation education. Many feel that business strategy is an essential skill for their children, particularly when many will ultimately take over the family business," said Shayne Nelson, the chief executive officer and global head of the private bank.

"With the course, we intend to help our clients’ next generation develop their skills to become successful business individuals themselves and to carry on their family’s wealth."

The participants will be involved in a wide range of activities from data analysis, problem solving skills, strategy development and team work to communication skills and business professional etiquette. It will then be followed by the bank's ninth annual week-long programme "Tools to Build Your Financial Future," in the week of 16 August.
