Millionaire investors grew more confident about financial markets in April, according to a monthly snapshot of sentiment by Spectrem Group, a result that contrasts with yesterday’s State Street index of US investors showing that confidence fell in April.

The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index rose by 5 points in April to -1, which brings the index to the highest level since December 2007, when it was at 8, and represents its ninth neutral reading in a month.

The Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index, meanwhile, which measures the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in investable assets, rose 3 points in April to –9. This neutral reading is likewise the index’s highest since December 2007, when it stood at zero.
