Quilter has continued its regional expansion programme with the addition of Gillian Bailey, an investment manager, to its Glasgow office.

The investment firm, which is part of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, has been aggressively ramping up its offering across the UK regions, and in recent months has launched a new office in Salisbury and appointed regional sales managers in Ireland, Scotland and Jersey, among other hires.

Bailey joins the firm from Cornelian Asset Managers in Edinburgh, where she was an associate director. Her prior career also includes the roles of relations manager at Standard Life in Edinburgh, head of research at Abbey National Asset Managers and investment manager at Murray Johnstone in Glasgow.

“With an investment management career spanning more than 20 years, Gillian has the depth of experience Quilter is looking for to continue building its business in Scotland,” Alan Cameron, head of the Quilter’s Glasgow office, said in a statement.

Quilter currently employs some 300 staff in 11 offices through the UK, Jersey and Ireland.
